When we think of branding and marketing, we think “POP!”  We say, “Our product needs to “sizzle” and “wow”!”  While being excited about your brand is important, so is understanding your ultimate goal.  Branding is a necessity in successful business.  Did you hear me…?   I said, “Successful Business.”

But, too many companies get lost in the glitz and glamour of showcasing their products.  There are many aspects of importance concerning your products and services.  Some of those include packaging, advertising and marketing campaigns, and even down to the color-scheme you decide to implement.

Have you ever received a package in the mail, and the actual packaging of the product you received made you say, “Ha, wow, this looks awesome!”  The simple strategy in how that company packaged their product was enough to shoot excitement through your brain so that you couldn’t wait to see the purchase you made.  Then, once you took the product out of the packaging and attempted to use it, it either didn’t work or it didn’t do what you thought it would.  What a let down!

It is important in “Successful Business” not lose your way.  Are you in business because you just want to afford the next luxury item, or are you in business because you want to earn an extraordinary living by providing something useful to world?  Shapes, colors, textures and schemes are all important tools to use in branding.  They are attention getters.

But, that is not just what branding is.  Branding is how your employees, customers and products relate with one another.  It is philosophy that your company thrives on.  It is your company’s reputation, it is your face.  Your branding should not be selling your product for you.  It should be getting the consumers’ attention so that your product can sell itself.  They key to selling your product or service is in understanding balance….and the purpose of branding.
