Social Media for Introverts

For some it’s hard to put themselves out there in social settings. However, that doesn’t have to translate to your social media platforms. One can be an introvert and still be successful and socially active online. Here are some tips to help you stay active and out there on social media.

Take Your Time

One of the biggest benefits of social media is that you get to think before you “speak”. Craft a post and send it out when you think it’s ready. Takes away the pressure from having to constantly think on your feet.

Follow People Who Have Similar Interests

Holding a conversation is always easier when it’s with a person or group that has similar interests as you. The same goes for social media. Follow accounts that draw your attention and post about topics you enjoy. You’ll feel more comfortable engaging in conversations and putting out your own content.

Be Consistent

If you want to grow a following be consistent. Followers don’t want someone who is going to half-hazardly put content out. You don’t have to post 10x a day but have a posting pattern and stick to it. Your followers will appreciate the constant stream of content.

Use Hashtags

If you want to find people to follow or gain followers based on a certain interest use #hashtags. It’s an easy way to draw attention to your account and content. However, don’t overuse hastags. Followers can get annoyed with reckless hashtaggers and hit the unfollow button.

Interact

If you post something and someone comments – respond back. Interacting with followers is a great asset. Not only can it help strengthen your social media platform, but it’ll create a new conversation, one you possibly haven’t had before.
